Travelers can enjoy two miles of roadway illuminated by thousands of holiday lights. In addition to the forest maze and indoor laser show, the display also includes a winter wonderland.
It’s called “Christmas on the Bayou” because it’s held in the bayou, where many Jefferson residents live. Locals love the annual wassail walk through downtown and the Rail of Lights Christmas train that runs on the weekends. There’s also the candlelight tour of houses and the town Christmas parade.
The Wonderland of Lights Extravaganza is the most exciting part of the holiday season. This is the 28th year of the celebration, which will last until New Year’s Eve.
Downtown will look like a winter wonderland thanks to the thousands of white lights being used in the celebration. The festivities include a Walk to Bethlehem, a Community Christmas Carol, a Jingle Bell Run, and a Lighted Christmas Parade.

Numerous celebrations, such as the Holiday Festival, La Tamalada and Time Travel Saturday, La Gran Tamalada, and the Mariachi Vargas Extravaganza, are held annually in the city during the holiday season.
9. College Station
When the holiday season rolls around, College Station is bustling with fun things to do. During the month of December, many activities take place, including the Downtown Lighted Christmas Parade, the annual Holiday Concert, and Christmas in the Park.
Santa’s Wonderland, located in the city, provides guests with a white Christmas courtesy of snow machines and shows holiday classics on a massive outdoor movie screen.
More than 1,400 Christmas-themed events are spread out over 40 days in Grapevine, Texas, from mid-November to early January. A trip to a man-made Snowland and large ice sculptures with ice slides made with nearly 2 million pounds of ice were among the highlights.
The Historic Palace Theatre in Grapevine also offers a special train ride for kids and an outdoor movie screen to show classic holiday films.
