Willis got his start in the music business as a member of the pop group Busted. Willis is the bassist and lead singer of the band. He also helped form the group and wrote almost all of their songs with Charlie Simpson, James Bourne, and Tom Fletcher, though Fletcher was a part of McFly at the time. During their time, the group became popular in the UK and started a rise in the popularity of pop music.
They made it to the top of the charts several times and put out two studio albums, one live record, and a collection of their best songs, all of which are available in the U.S. When Simpson left to work on other projects in 2005, the band broke up.
