Bridgerton is getting a third season. Netflix renewed the show before the second season even had a start date. When the second season came out in March 2022, it was a huge hit.
Fans of Bridgerton were surprised when Netflix renewed the show for a third season. In fact, it came with the confirmation of season 4 at the same time. Usually, contracts don’t get renewed twice, but we wouldn’t mind if this kept happening.
We told you everything we know about the third season of Bridgerton. This article was last changed on Saturday, June 17, 2023. Reed Gaudens, Natalie Zamora, and Bryce Olin from FanSided Entertainment all helped with this story.
Has Netflix Announced the Release Date For Bridgerton Season 3?
No, Netflix has not yet stated when season 3 of Bridgerton will be available. We know that fans were hoping for a new season in 2023, but we still don’t know when it will come out.
In May 2023, Netflix launched more Bridgerton with the spinoff Queen Charlotte. Netflix would never release two seasons at the same time. From a business standpoint, there’s no point in doing that. After all of this, season 3 of Bridgerton won’t be on Netflix for a while. There’s no reason to think that season 3 of Bridgerton would be delayed until 2024, though.
The earliest we could see season 3 of Bridgerton would be in September or October 2023. On Christmas Day 2020, the first season of Bridgerton started airing. Considering what Netflix has planned for the rest of the year, it’s safe to assume that Bridgerton season 3 will come out on Christmas Day. Right now, that’s just our guess, but we know Netflix drops big shows around the holidays, and Bridgerton season 3 is the biggest show coming to Netflix this year.
Who Stars Will Play the Best Role in Bridgerton Season 3?
Nicola Coughlan will be back as Penelope Hetherington, as will her boyfriend Colin, her ex-best friend Eloise, and other Bridgerton family members. However, the part of Francesca has been changed. Ruby Stokes will be replaced by Hannah Dodd in the part since Stokes has moved on to star in Netflix’s Lockwood & Co.
Three new male players have signed on for the new season. Daniel Francis (Stay Close) will play Marcus Anderson, Sam Phillips (The Crown) will play Lord Debling, and James Phoon (Wreck) will play Harry Dankworth.
Hannah New will play the young widow Lady Tilley Arnold, who likes being in charge of her late husband’s estate and having the financial, social, and sexual freedom that comes with it.
Phoebe Dynevor’s Daphne will not be in Season 3. Regé-Jean Page, who played the smoldering Duke of Hastings in Season 1 but left the show for Season 2, also won’t be back for Season 3.
There are the following cast members in the web series and you will see in season 3.
- Nicole Coughlan as Penelope Featherington
- Luke Newton was Colin Bridgerton
- Claudia Jessie as Eloise Bridgerton
- Jonathan Bailey was Anthony Bridgerton
- Simone Ashley was Kate Sharma
- Luke Thompson is Benedict Bridgerton
- Florence Hunt was Hyacinth Bridgerton
- Adjoa Andoh as Lady Agatha Danbury

What is the Impressive Storyline of Season 3 of Bridgerton?
The first two seasons of the show were in the same order as the books by Julia Quinn. However, Netflix has stated that Season 3 will be out of order, even though they plan to cover all of the books. The third book, “An Offer from a Gentleman,” is about Benedict’s (Luke Thompson) search for love. Season 3 will skip that book and go straight to book 4, “Romancing Mr. Bridgerton,” which is about Penelope and Colin.
And for those who were disappointed that Season 2 didn’t live up to the steamy standard set by Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and the Duke (Regé-Jean Page) in Season 1, Nicola Coughlan has said that if the show stays true to the book, there will be a lot of racy scenes in Season 3—so many, in fact, that the actress is considering asking for a special PG cut for her family to watch.
“In the coach, there’s a scene. And it’s just that if they’re kind of fighting, then it all gets very sweet, shall we say, but I think it will be such a good scene on the show. “The thought of making a movie scares me, but I think it would be great,” Coughlan said. “So I know that in that scene, things get very racy. I already know what is going to happen.”
Is there a Season 3 Bridgerton Trailer?
Not right now, unfortunately. But at their June 2023 event, Netflix did show a first look at Bridgerton season 3, which focuses on the story of Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).
When did Season 3 of Bridgerton Start Filming?
As of July 20, 2022, season 3 is currently in production. Yes, the petticoats are on and the wigs are out because the Featheringtons and Bridgertons are back to dancing around and doing lots of deep, sexy breathing.
In the announcement video, all of the key actors can be seen switching their fingers from showing a number two to showing a number three. Exciting! As the formal caption said, “I see the beginnings of a new social season. From the looks of things, it seems like the third part of Bridgerton has begun.”
The first look at season 3 of Bridgerton
On June 17, at Netflix’s live TUDUM event in Brazil, Nicola Coughlan went on stage and showed fans the first pictures from season 3. Penelope looks very different now, and we love it. Look at the pictures below and get pumped!
Will there be a Season 4 of Bridgerton?
We know it’s hard, but if you like Bridgerton, you have to be patient. As was already said, Bridgerton is one of Netflix’s most popular shows, and it has a lot of promise to become a franchise. Also involved is Shonda Rhimes, who doesn’t make bad shows.
Season 4 of Bridgerton is already being planned, but as far as we know, shooting has not yet begun. Before season 2 started, Netflix had already said yes to both seasons.
As the release date of season 3 gets closer, we’ll probably find out a lot more about season 4 of Bridgerton. If it’s confirmed, the cast might be able to talk more freely about what the future holds than if it wasn’t announced.
Julia Quinn has written eight Bridgerton books, and Rhimes has said that they plan to turn all eight books into seasons of the Netflix show. It’s up to Netflix if that plan goes through or not.
There are no known plans for what will happen to Bridgerton after season 4. Netflix said that the show would have four seasons, and we haven’t heard anything else about it in a while.
