What happened in Episode 8?
In Episode 8 of Season 1 of The Apothecary Diaries, Maomao and her father try to solve a riddle involving a sex worker and a courtesan. Most of the show is spent with Maomao thinking about the case. Along with the information she gets from the scene of the crime and from talking to people, her father helps her figure out that it was murder and not a double suicide plot.
Maomao then goes back to the house. He tells her to meet him in the lounge. In an interrogation, Jinshi asks Maomao about her trip and Lihaku. She told Jinshi that she didn’t know what to give him as a gift, so she picked Lihaku. Jinshi was speechless when she talked about the gift she gave Lihaku for his help.
At the end of the show, Hongniang hits Maomao on the head with a rock while Gyokuyou laughs.
