Ashtarte Chapter 68 Recap
At the start of the chapter, Ashutarte and Leon are running away from the emperor’s army, which is led by Liana’s brother, Prince Rion. Leon and Ashutarte are after this army. They manage to get to a nearby bush, where they can hide for a while and take a break from the people who are after them.
Ashutarte and Leon share a tender moment where they fiercely kiss each other and tell each other how much they love each other. Ashutarte tells Leon that she wants to spend the rest of her life with him, no matter what it takes to bring down the kingdom.
Leon has promised Ashutarte that she will always be safe, even if it means going against what is best for his own country to do what needs to be done.
At the same time, the emperor is furious that Ashutarte and Leon were able to get away from the people who were after them. He tells Rion to catch them no matter what, and if Leon tries to stop Rion, he will kill him.
Further, he gives Horeom, the high priest, an order telling him to use his magic to find them and make the oracle’s statement come true.
Not only does Horeom give his permission, but he really wants to abandon the emperor and use Ashutarte as a pawn to get what he wants. Horeom’s real intentions are shown in the next sentence, even though he agrees.
He is honest about the fact that he has been changing the oracle’s statements the whole time and is working on a secret plan involving Ashtaroth, an old god of the underworld. Along with this, he says that he has been changing the horoscope to help him reach his goal.
