Neil Gaiman is creating the third season of Good Omens for Amazon Prime Video. It will carry on the story of Aziraphale and Crowley and contains ideas for a sequel to the critically acclaimed original novel written by the late Terry Pratchett. Based on the Gaiman and Pratchett novel, the Amazon Prime Video series Good Omens centers on the relationship between the demon Crowley (David Tennant) and angel Aziraphale (Michael Sheen), which has grown over the centuries of their time on Earth. As they set out to stop the end of the world, they put their differences aside.
The book served as the basis for the first season of Good Omens, and rumors circulated that Gaiman and Pratchett had planned a sequel before the latter’s passing. Gaiman has recently clarified, though, that the intended sequel was for Good Omens season three rather than the second season. There’s already a lot to talk about regarding Good Omens season 3, and this has just intensified the already heated rumors surrounding the show’s potential return to Amazon Prime Video following the second season cliffhanger.
What Is Good Omens Season 3 Release Date 3?
The third season of Good Omens does not yet have a scheduled release date. It seems doubtful that the upcoming season of Good Omens will air in 2024 because Neil Gaiman hasn’t fully set the wheels in motion for the next installment of Crowley and Aziraphale’s story. In 2025, the show might make a comeback to Amazon Prime Video, although that would depend on whether or not it is renewed. Good Omens season 3 will only be available on Amazon Prime Video, just as the previous seasons.
Good Omens Season 3 Cast
Most of the returning cast members of Good Omens season 3 are probably in place. Of course, Michael Sheen from Underworld and David Tennant from Doctor Who and Jessica Jones will return as the demon Crowley and Michael Sheen from The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn as the angel Aziraphale. In the third season of Good Omens, more angels, demons, and humans might return; some of them might even play new parts.
Season 2 of Good Omens featured Jon Hamm (Mad Men, The Morning Show) reprising his role as Gabriel, who now plays a major role in the narrative as his abduction raises the possibility of a conflict between Heaven and Hell. Additionally featured in season 2, and potentially joining the cast of Good Omens in season 3 are:
- David Tennant – Crowley
- Michael Sheen – Aziraphale
- Jon Hamm – Gabriel
- Doon Mackichan – Archangel Michael

Good Omens Season 3 Plot
The climactic moments of the second season set up the plot of Good Omens season 3. It was a scene that completely changed the course of the show, transforming Good Omens from a primarily humorous comedy to a heartbreaking drama.
For the most part of the second season, Gabriel—who, it turned out, had come to Earth to find Beelzebub, the person he secretly loved—was assisted by Crowley and Aziraphale. But this tale actually demonstrated the true meaning of Good Omens. In this episode, the demon Crowley and the angel Aziraphale ultimately confess their love to one another.
The fact that Crowley would be the only one to recognize this was unexpected. Aziraphale was Crowley’s first love, and he finally acknowledged it in the Good Omens season 2 finale. This will play a major role in the season 3 narrative. He proceeded to declare his love and request that the angel accompany him as they left the chaos of Heaven and Hell behind. But Aziraphale could restore Crowley’s angelic status because he had already accepted a new position back in Heaven.
Crowley did not want to hear this. Because of their true selves, the angel and the demon had been closest friends for ages. Now, Aziraphale was determining that he could reform Crowley for the benefit of both of them. The plot of Good Omens season three will probably revolve around Crowley and Aziraphale’s love affair and their realization that they are incomplete without one another.
